INVITATION TO APPLY FOR RESIDENCE

Congratulations. We are pleased to inform you that Immigration New Zealand has considered your Expression of Interest in migrating to New Zealand. We now invite you to apply for residence. Your application may include the people that were listed in your Expression of Interest.

Apply within four monthsYour invitation to apply for residence does not remain open indefinitely.For your application for residence to be accepted it must be received, (together with all of the specified accompanying documents), within four months from the date of this letter, which is 14 November 2010. Your application will not be accepted after that date.

If you cannot obtain the necessary documents within four months (or any earlier date if you and/or a dependant child are affected by an age change), please let Immigration New Zealand know as soon as possible. Please also tell us if you decide not to proceed with an application.

Your invitation to apply for residence does not remain open indefinitely. Ordinarily, for an application for residence to be accepted and considered for approval it must be received, (together with all of the specified accompanying documents), within four months from the date of this letter.

Should you choose to apply, a Visa Officer will be assigned to process your residence application. You will be informed of the Officer’s name and contact details after your application has been accepted for consideration.

The Guide to Applying for Residence under the Skilled Migrant Category will assist you in preparing your application. Your ApplicationI have enclosed with this letter, your Application for Residence under the Skilled Migrant Category form, which contains the information you provided as part of your Expression of Interest.

You will need to confirm that the information you provided in your Expression of Interest as included in Sections A to T of the enclosed Application for Residence form is true and correct.

You will also need to answer any questions in the form which you previously left unanswered because they were not applicable at the time and which are now applicable. If you wish to add or change the information that you supplied earlier in your Expression of Interest, you must clearly indicate this in the Amendments or New Information section of the form. You are also required to complete the Photographs, Declaration and Payment Details Sections of the form.

Please submit your application with all the required documents listed below.

Documents RequiredYou must supply the following for your application to be accepted:

• Payment of the application fee of CNY 8,840 or US$ 1,315 which must be paid by way of a bank draft from a bank outside China made payable to the New Zealand Immigration Service. Please note that if you wish to make payment by bank draft in US dollars, a US$10 bank fee is applicable.In case you wish your originals to be returned back by courier on completion of your application, please include US$25 in the same bank draft.

• A certified copy of all pages of each applicant’s passport.Please ensure the copies are clear and legible.

• A certified copy of each applicant’s full birth certificate stating both parents’ names.

• An original Police Certificate for you and your partner from China. Certificates must be no more than 6 months old at the time you submit your application. For information on how to obtain a Police Certificate please visit our website:http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/formsandfees/formsandguides/policecertificate/ and follow the link for a specific country. • A completed Medical and X-ray Certificate for each applicant. Certificates must be no more than three months old at the time you submit your application. Please note that X-Rays are not required for pregnant women and children aged 11 years or younger. Certificates are available on our website: http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/general/formsandfees/formsandguides/policecertificate/ and follow the link for a specific country.

• A completed Additional Details Form for each person aged 17 years and over. The form is attached in your ITA email.

• Certified copies or originals AND photocopies of evidence to prove that you and your partner meet the English Language requirements. We highly recommend that an IELTS certificates for your spouse (if applicable) are provided together with the other documents at lodgement stage.If these are not provided, they may be requested later by your Case Officer which can result in significant delays in the processing of your application. When IELTS certificates are requested, they will be used to determine whether the minimum standards of English are met. The application may be declined if either the principal applicant or their spouse does not meet the required level.• Certified copies or originals AND photocopies of evidence of partnership status to demonstrate that you have been living together in a genuine and stable relationship for at least 12 months. Such evidencemay include but is not limited to documents showing shared accommodation such as: a joint mortgage, a joint tenancy agreement or rent book, correspondence (including postmarked envelopes) addressed to both of you at the same address, photos taken at various stages of your relationship, brief of explanation of any periods of separation (if applicable)

• Certified copies or originals AND photocopies of evidence to demonstrate that your qualification and work experience meet the criteria for the being in an Area of Absolute Skills Shortage as per the list at:http://www.immigration.govt.nz/NR/rdonlyres/A00C631D-E2B1-48C4-BD41-BA83B82BBF05/0/1105.pdf

• Completed Immigration Adviser Details form if your application will be submitted by an immigration adviser. For further information about immigration adviser licensing requirements please visit www.iaa.govt.nz. You must also supply the following evidence to support the points you have claimed:

Certified copies or originals AND photocopies of your degree certificates and academic transcripts. Certified copies or originals AND photocopies of work references including job responsibilities. Evidence of your work experience as outlined in Section G of the enclosed Application for Residence Guide. Please ensure that your letters for work experience include the start and finish dates. (Certified copies of your payslips, tax records and Social Security records would also facilitate your application procedure). Certified copies or originals AND photocopies of evidence to prove that your work experience is relevant to your qualification.

Please refer to the Application for Residence Guide under the Skilled Migrant Category for details about the types of information which are acceptable evidence.

Next StepsThe accompanying guide sets out the path to residence in New Zealand.It describes the restrictions and requirements of any permit you and your family may be granted.Requirements could include your taking up and/or remaining in specified employment for a certain period of time after your arrival in New Zealand.

If you decide to proceed with an application for residence, you should also be aware that part of the assessment may involve an interview by an INZ officer.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This invitation to apply for residence under the Skilled Migrant Category does not guarantee the points claimed by you or a positive assessment against health, character, or English language requirements in any subsequent application for residence that you may choose to make.

This invitation has been issued on the basis of the information you have provided in your Expression of Interest. If you choose to apply for residence we will verify this information and if your application fails to meet policy it may be declined.

We urge you to consider this step carefully given the significant time, cost, and effort associated with making a residence application.
