申请人做的是投资2类移民的申请。现行的投资移民新政策是2009年07月29日推出的，需要申请人满足：1）拥有相当于250万新西兰元（人民币1250万）的资产，能够投资新西兰元150万到新西兰。2）有3年或以上的经商经历 3）有英文雅思 3分的水平，获批时，申请人全家一步到位取得居留权（RV）。（带有条件），只要保持投资在新西兰境内4年，主申请人在后3年每年在境内居住146天，条件就会取消，届时，申请人获得无条件的永久居留权（PRV）。这个居留永久有效，也没有任何居住要求（全世界西方福利国家中新西兰**）。
