Key things to remember

· Ensure that the information and documents you provide clearly demonstrate that you qualify for all the points you claimed in your EOI.

· Provide clear, accurate and complete(i.e. all the required supporting documents) information to help us assess your application in the minimum time.

The attached Investor Guide describes the documents required to support the claims you make for business experience, nominated investment funds and assets, and your acquisition of those funds and assets. Your supporting documents must have been issued by credible independent organisations such as government offices, banks, accountants or solicitors.

How to provide supporting documents

Please note that all documents provided in support of your application must be either, the original documents, certified copies or notarised copies. Certified copies must be made only by a person who is authorised by law to make such copies. Notarised copies must only be made by a Notary Public.

English translations

Any document that is not in English must be accompanied by an English translation that has been prepared by a recognised translator or translation business. This can include an embassy or high commission, provided the translation is endorsed with the appropriate embassy or high commission seal.

All translations must comply with the following:

· The translator must, on the translation, certify the translation as a correct and accurate translation.

· The translation must bear the stamp or signature and details of the translator or translation business.

· The original foreign language document (or a certified/notarised copy) must be attached securely (e.g. stapled, punched and tied) to the translation by the translator and a stamp or seal must be placed over both documents in order to clearly show that they relate to each other.

Please note that any translations not in the above format will not be considered.

Transfer of funds

New Zealand immigration policy requires that once approval to transfer and invest funds has been granted, the nominated funds must be transferred through the banking system directly from the principal applicant’s bank account(s) to New Zealand, or be transferred by a foreign exchange company to New Zealand through the banking system.

These transfers must be traceable. If you use a foreign exchange company you must transfer the nominated funds to the foreign exchange company directly from your bank account(s). Cash transactions are not acceptable. More information on the requirements for acceptable use of foreign exchange companies can be found here.

Some countries operate internal foreign exchange controls that may restrict or even prohibit the transfer of funds out of the country. Before proceeding with your application, you should fully consider your position in terms of your ability to transfer your nominated funds to New Zealand in a manner that complies with New Zealand immigration requirements.
